I have done every troubleshooting step to resolve this on EA's site. I've messed with the video configuration, reinstalled the game (twice and then download 1.6 full, then 1.61-1.61b, (updated IN THAT ORDER YES, bam, crash, crash crash) Still, whenever I try to open the game after I update to the latest patch it crashes. I am using an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with the latest drivers. Is there something I am missing? Any help would be appreciated....

Did you install Direct X?

The game and especially the 9700 mobility video drivers may still need DX9.

Direct X is compatible with older versions so use the latest.

If that still doesnt work are you installing BF to the default directory?

General Rammel your post was deleted. If I am willing to help him without criticizing then you should not come in and post after me and criticize.

In other words If I found no fault with his post then neither should you.

Hi Lord_Dying, can we have more info on your system? Please post the output of your DxDiag program for us to look through.

Thanks

Ensure you completely uninstall all files and delete the 1942 folder before you attempt to reinstall in the correct order. When you download the .65, download the one file that is huge. Do not download the three files for .65. I found them to cause major issues.
