I attempt to open DC_Final from my desktop, but it will go past the logo, go into the black screen, and crash back to the desktop. What the heck is going on?!

Have you go the latest BF1942 patch 1.61b and the latest version of DC (0.7) installed?

It is thought that maybe it is because I have a lot of useless items running annonymously in the background of my computer. Is this a possibility?

Sounds more like the refreash rate problem that affected DC and BF1942.

I found out what was causing it. My computer had put my hardware acceleration from full to one notch above none. I hope that this thread can help someone else with this issue. If you need to find your hardware acceleration, follow these instructions: 1. Right click on your desktop. 2. Open up PROPERTIES. 3. Click the SETTINGS tab and click the ADVANCED tab. 4. Check your Hardware Acceleration from there. Make sure it is set to FULL. Thanks to all those who helped on this thread. I really appreciate knowing that people are out there to help stranded gamers. WOOT!
