My game usually takes about 8 minutes to load a level. My computer is fairly new, and normally i dont have any problems running regular battlefield, but once I downloaded the Forgotten Hope mod, my load times increased dramatically. I already played around with my sound settings and I've even set my graphics down to low. I'm wondering if i need to buy more ram ( i currently have 512 mb which im guessing is mostly taken up by windows xp) or a new video card (dont know what kind i have) or a new anything for that matter. please help.bawl.gif -thanks

More RAM always helps out on the load times.

GEN1-X or a new video card (dont know what kind i have)[/img]

Click start, run, type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes). The display tab will tell you what kind of vid card you have and how much memory. It would only be an issue if you had a 64Mb vid card, if you have a 128 or 256 the vid card shouldn't make a lot of difference as long as it is not onboard and a reasonably new model. Post the details here so we can check them out.

Buy an nVidia. Don't listen to what ppl say, nVidia Graphics Cards are not messed up. But don't go and buy a GeForce FX 5200. Take my word, it's good for movies, but that's about it. Go buy a GeForce 6 series. And buy at least 512 more MB of RAM. Maybe go buy 2 GB of RAM, just to be sure. And sometimes mounting your BF1942 CD on your harddrive helps with loading time. Here's a link to a guide on CD mounting. http://www.bfworld.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=670&st=0entry6126 Alcohol120% helps with the process.

Hi GEN1-X,

Now for the bad news, you have an integrated Intel graphics controller with 64Mb memory, to put it mildly, you are probably screwed, no amount of extra ram will make your game load much faster. You may be able to upgade your video but it depends on whether your computer has an AGP slot. There's no point in speculating about what graphics card you should get until you find out if you can actually plug one in to the motherboard, so you will need to find that out first.
