I've been working on a mod for some time now. It's mainly about flight action, and I'm introducing new 'variants' of planes, like the F4U-1A Corsair and the F4U-1D Corsair. The different variants have different weapons, skins, speed, agility etc based on realistic figures and balanced gameplay. However, when I'm trying to add these variants with different skins to the game and they spawn in a map (or I spawn them in Debug mode) the game crashes. I don't understand. My comp passes all the minimum specs and Battlefield works fine normally, I can do the same thing in BfV and it works, I've checked my coding many times over and it's fine, I've got all the necessary StandardMesh and Texture files, all the assosciated bits and pieces but...the game still crashes. Anybody able to help me out? Please?

first off do you run in windowed mode? if so tell us what the error says or if it's just a general crash message (this program has stopped responding, or something to that effect) if you are not in windowed mode, go to your Mods/bf1942/Settings folder and open the VideoDefault.con file. change "renderer.setFullScreen 1" to "renderer.setFullScreen 0" then save and restart bf in the debugger. Spawn your vehicle and take note of any errors you get. if after all that you do not know how to fix those errors, come back here and tell us what they are. then we can help you better -Major

Yes I am running in in Windowed mode for Debug, and no, there aren't any message boxes that pop up to tell me of any possible errors, just a 30-second or so wait then 'bf1942_r.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.....'

would you be willing to post your code then? this sounds like maybe something is not working or is being redundant upon itself and causing a loop. but i won't really know unless i can take a look at your code.

Righto, do you want me to just put the entire code for one of the crashing planes ('scuse the pun) on this forum?

well if you can zip them and give me a link to them then you don't need to post the entire contents, but if you can't do that then go ahead. just post the physics.con, weapons.con, and objects.con those are usually the source of the problem.
