Hey guys im a huge Battlefield 1942 fan that downloads heaps of mods for the game. I currently have a problem. I installed the Conflict in Somalia mod and everytime I tried to play online it came up CD Key in use. This is what I did. 1. I un installed the CIS mod- the game completely stuffed up. 2. I contacted EA havent heard back from the six or seven emails sent. 3. went into program files/ eagames and deleted the Battlefield 1942 folder 4. now when I try to inistall the game it doesnt work 5. plz help me 6. plz plz plz help me 7. is there any other file I should have deleted than just the folder?

The answer is, you CAN'T uninstall it by deleting the folder, you MUST uninstall it by using the uninstall button in add/remove programs section of the control panel.
Because you haven't un-installed it properly it still has all the data in the registry and the game checks the registry before installing. If it sees the relevelant keys there it assumes it is already installed and refuses to install again. You will have to go through and delete the registry keys from the registry that refer to BF, then it will re-install.

adding to what apoc kid said, to get to the regesrty type "regedit" in Run. but dont start deleting stuff that you dont know what it is, then you can really screw stuff up.

Start, run, regedit HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Battlefield 1942 --> Delete that

I did that and now when I go to install the game and it wouldnt let me so i went to unistall on the little bar thing and when clicked on it just does nothing can somone explain??
