So I got BF1942, and do only, playable, bugless version I can play is the freshly installed, non-patched one, AKA, v1.0. In that state, the game has no errors whatsoever, but the thing there's alot of features missing in v1.0. If I patch my BF1942 to v1.6, problems begin. If I do not install any expansion packs, the game won't even start--it crashs to the desktop just when I double click on it. If I install any expansion pack, the game will start, but with a bevy of bugs and errors: 1.If I try and define a new key for any of the controls in the options, the game crashs to desktop without any error whatsoever. 2.If I click on internet games in the multiplayer option, the game also crashs to the desktop. 3.If I start a single-player game, there is a 'map vote' window permanently blocking my view, and there is NO WAY to close it, no matter what button I click on it. Beside to the map vote window there is also something that says "Map Vote berlin123456789012" or something like that. I reinstalled the game millions of times already and the problem never goes away. WTF?!@#$%^* Oh yeah and here's my computer specs: P4 2.4ghz 512MB of RAM Radeon 9600 XT with Catylyst 4.7 drivers

I thought EA's tech support was kinda useless...
Oh yeah and the thing is, the problems occur AFTER I install the patch. Just look at the first post again...

Check your logs in windows and see what is crashing your computer exactly. Sounds to extreme to be just a simple softwware error. That is unless you are using a download poorly packed copy of the game. But with all of those problems I would say it is hardware. But the logs would indicate for certain. with that many CTDs you or the hardware is screwing something up
