I've been having really bad lag issues since .6 came out. Today I've shelled out for another 512mb of RAM and whilst there's a real improvement I still find certain maps as choppy as hell especially Prov-whatsit. Here's my specs: AMD Athlon 2200 (1.8gig) 1024 gig RAM Radeon 8500LE 128mb Graphics Windows XP Cable connection usually pinging 50 or below. I know my GC is showing it's age but I really expected the extra ram to sort things out. Any thoughts?
I'd make an educated guess and say is a combination of your vidcard and processor with the added burden of FH's load of extras in there. Also, if you have AA and anisotropic filtering on (I keep mine both on 2x) you're gonna have a hit there too. I'm also getting some slower performance for the first time in BF1942, which I think is entirely due to FH's larger content. All other mods and Vanilla have great framerates. Its no coincidence that the Wolfserver chopped the number of players down from 54 to 46 because of poorer perfromance in .6. I'd rather have less toys and more players. Those full 64 player servers are always fun. P4 2.6 768 DDR RAM (333) 128 GeforceTi4200 with 53.03 drivers.
Yes. BF is very fast for me with 512 RAM,but Fh is just laggy because of the High poly models.Maybe the poly's should be lowered a bit or at least have some beta-testers with lower end computers.
True! They did seem to make quit a large jump from .5 to .6 As far as textures there great! But at the expense of gameplay? I thing the mod developers are gettin a little ahead of themselves:
2.1Ghz AMD 2600+ 1GB Ram 120 GB Hard Drive Asus AZN8X NForce2 Motherboard GeForce FX5600 256MB Standard Broadband
I had BF with full specs, AA set at 8x and AP set at 6x. now I have to switch both off and reduce the specs just to get a semi-decent frame rate on some maps. And they said it would run better than 0.5 yeah right.
