Hi all, i just want to know if it is possible to change the MEC soldiers into insurgent for bf2? If you know how to do it please help me out.
well, you could copy the map and put it into your special forces folder then go into the server.zip for that map and go to the init.con and change the armys there, its easy to do...just time consuming
Thanks for the reply, do you know any other way that won't consume time? I created a different mod folder other than bf2 and xpack, does it work if i copy the insurgent kit into my own mod server and then change the init.com in my level folder to insurgent? I just don't want to play through the special force version. Please explain.. Thank you
so you mean you that you want the us soldiers vs. the insurgents? Im not sure I get where your coming at. editing the init.con only takes about 5-10 minutes.
yes thats what i wanted, i want USMC to vs Insurgent with my own mod. is it possible?
Yes its easy to do, hold on Ill knock togeather a Init.con for you. EDIT: Here ya go, try this out, its the init.con for strike at karkland, what I did was I added the insurgents instead of the mec, and i increased the view distance a little bit. Make sure you copy the map and put it in your xpack copied mod folder as to not mess with your original. It goes in the server.zip incase you dont know. =) init.con - FileFront.com
cool, thanks bro. Ok this is so cool, but is there a way to play US vs Insurgent without the xpack mod. I want to play through my mod and not xpack.

No. You need Special Forces installed to be able to get the insurgent model in Vanilla BF2.
If you take SF out and change the init.con so it has insurgents for whatever map you are doing, the map will simply CTD when you try to load it up.
awww Thats sad to hear.:( But oh well, i guess i'll have to live with it then. Thank you both for helping me out here. really appreciated alot.:nodding:
No problem man. =)
