Hello everybody, I have not been modding stuff on bf2 for a while now, but I just watched BHD and I feel in the mood again. I was wondering if it were at all possible to transfer a projectile deviation script from grenades into bullets, and then just mod them so that they don't just fall to the ground?

Don't have a clue, however BF2142 patch 1.06 has lowered the assualt rifles deviation so its much much better for us assaults, go assaults!

Do you mean that you want to make the rifle as accurate as the grenades? Go into the code and look for teh deviation section and change those numbers to match the grenade.

kind of. I wan't to know wether or not taking the code that makes the grenade have a literal "arc" when you throw it (it goes a bit up, and then back down to the ground), and put it in all the other weapons so that the bullets will be effected by "gravity" (they will slowly fall to the ground after you shoot) will work. This will make the game much more realistic, because no bullet stays in the air forever.

They do that by incresing the gravity on the projectile, and the slower the muzzle velosity, the more it arcs. I've just lowered the muzzle velosity and the bullet arcs, but if you want to keep the velocity the same you will have to add teh gravity to the projectile.

Well, I put it at 100 in my mod (the WTF mod) but that made more brop than would be normal. If I was in prone and fired strait, the round would hit the grond about 50 -100 feet away. So you will just have to tinker around with it, but you shoud put it lower than 500 because 500 is the MGs default velocity. Hope tha helps:)

Oh, because I just tried 500 for snipers/ar's, and 450 for pistols, and 350 for sg's, and I didn't see any difference for any of them. Did you put any gravity scripts in your mod? is there any way to change the view distance so I can see the bullet effects from farther away? (I have a good computer so performance is a non issue).

Um, no I did not change the gravity on projectiles in my mod, I just change it on vehicles and soldiers. But I'm pretty sure increcing the gravity will help. I don't think that you are alowed to make the vewing distence more than 100% in the options, but you can make thw weapons zoom infarter so that you can see where the bullets land, the lower the number on teh zoom modifier the farther the weapon will zoom in. This is the gravity code line, but I'm not sure where you shoud put it in teh code so that it takes affect. ObjectTemplate.gravityModifier (what ever you want, ~0.2 will make most vehicles float.)
