Ok, I have 1GB RAM, 200GB HDD 7200rpm, AMD Athlon 3200 64, ATi Radeon X850 XT and a sound blaster live 24bit sound card, with Inspire T7900 7.1 speakers.
1st: How do I connect my mic, when my speakers are hogging all the sound things on the card?
2nd: I can only get full 7.1 audio for BF2 if I set the audio renderer to Hardware, but then the voices are all fragmented. The other sounds are fine, just the voices are screwed. How Can I get 7.1 audio AND normal voices?
Dude, I dont know if this will help uncheck the EAX setting its useless and its a sys hog. The game runs better without it on, much smoother.
Ok, two things here.
1) This (sound blaster live 24bit sound card) is not supported in the BF2 hardware sound renderer list, so don't try and use the hardware sound option, it will just cause big problems.
2) Consult your manual but I think you will find that to enable 7.1 surround sound the mic, line in and other plugs on your sound card are all converted to line outs and that you cannot use a mike and 7.1 surround sound simultaneously.
Oh n0es. Thanks for the help anyway.
Since there is no edit button, I apologise for this double post.
Is there any way of getting my mic to work with my onboard sound, instead of my card, while the 7.1 system is using the card?
There is an edit button .But users have i think fifteen min to change their posts. lol I am not sure if that is possible. i will poke around and see what happens.
