This is really bugging me, the game looks like crap on 1280x1024 while my native resolution is 1680x1050. Everything is big and chunky, my start up looks like this

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

It still looks big and stuff, I've tried even deleting the whole profile, but to no avail.

Anyone else have this problem?

Same here, but if you look at the video settings, BF2 ONLY supports resolutions up to 1280 x 1024.

No way, really!? Well 1280x1024 is my native resolution, and I guess to me it isn't that bad, haha can't believe that it only goes up that high.

Do yourself a favour and play cod 4 instead of betafield 2

Yes...from the menu. It supports higher than that if you use the method he's trying to use. I run BF2 and BF2142 at 1920x1200 (I think that's the maximum, but I've no way of testing it since my monitor doesn't actually go higher).

Rommel, two things.

First off, you don't need +widescreen 1. As far as I know +widescreen isn't even an option. It should look like: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

Second, you have to run it from that shortcut for the resolution setting to take effect. If you use a different shortcut or run the game from the CD autorun it'll use the standard settings, so aside from your dodgy parameters that's another reason why everything could still be.....'big and stuff'.

Why? I like battlefield two mostly because of the Vehicles, I love being able to dog fight in the sky and roaming the countryside in my Abrams.

Old thread <_<

But, for the res problem, you could try the widescreen fixer: imk.cx: PC Projects - Widescreen Fixer
