Ok so last month BF started actin weird. I would put the CD in and it would ask to install i would just exit and use the shortcut on my desktop to start it. For Christmas I got BF2 SF and when I whent to install that but It said that BF2 wasnt detected. So then I figured I'd just uninstall BF2 and reinstall, not as simple as it seemed. I tried using the unisntall that was in the BF folder but that didnt work so I just deleted everything manual style, everything related to it I deleted and have checked several times. What happens when I try to install is it starts to and says that it is instalizing the setup but gets no farther, it just stops and thats it. Now when I look at the install/uninstall in the control panel it says that there are 12 megabytes of it on my computer. This is really freakin me out and I would like to play again!

You can't just uninstall a program by deleting it, you have to delete the registry entries also. BF2 will look ithe registry for the install info, and if it finds the info there it won't install. You will need to clean out the BF info fromthe registry and also to makje sure you have deleted the BF2 stuff from the "my documents" folder as well as the program files folder.

You need to open the registry using start->run->regedit then search for and delete entries for BF2 and battlefield 2, but take care and don't accidently delete anything else or there coujld be serious consequences.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM TOO, BUT I USED A REG CLEANER TO GET RID OF THE LEFT OVER BATTLEFIELD STUFF AND THE ONLY THING THAT IS LEFT IS BATTLEFIELD 2 TM WHICH IS 12.90MB LIKE HIM. I USE THE REGCLEANER ON IT BUT IT STILL COMES BACK!

well i did everything you said and downloaded the registry cleaner but when I hit the uninstall button it just has the unistall wisard thingy come up and it tries to installize the uninstaller but when it reaches the end it just quits. When I go to add/remove programs it says that there are 12.89 megs left.
