I was playing BF2 yesterday (May 10th) I logged out, went to do something else, came back awhile later, started it, typed in my pw and it came up with the "Connecting to account server" but it didn't connect, and finally after a good 20 min I unplugged my network cable, as I could not alt tab out, or get to the task manager. I have checked the forums, and back in 2005 this happened, I was wondering if other people are having the same problem? It was working fine, and I have not changed any firewall/network settings... It was only about an hour after I had been playing that I tried to reconnect... I have checked the ea games help section for bf2, I tried everything they asked, none of it worked... ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 5/11/2007, 18:00:55 Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: ASUSTek Computer Inc. hi all,

i also have this problem. BF2 couldn't retrieve my EA account (I use with no probs for BF2142) saying it didn't exist, so i created a new one.

the game froze while doing so. i deleted it and tried to retrieve. it didn;t exist. so created another.

the game froze again. occaisionally i can get through the login, but the pings are terrible all >150ms.

generally it just freezes while connecting to my acount. i cant log in on EA to these accounts. EA suck big time. even their tech support are retarded robots. they even got my name wrong! oh well.

Hi, I now know that the problem is not ea's fault, it has nothing to do with them, it is localised to my one machine, I tried a laptop and it connected, (not through bf2, but worked with something that did not work on my comp) I am thinking this might be a network card problem, I no longer need any help, ty.

What is the solution? I have seen all kinds of topics about this online, but noone really says what to do. I have the exact same problem - I have played the game on and off since June 2005, but in the past few months it will get to the login page, I enter the info, hit log in, and it just stays there and freezes. I cant do alt+tab or ctr+alt+del, or alt+f4, and am forced to restart the computer entirely.

I have the same graphics card and computer since then, so none of that changed (I have an ATI Radeon 9800 if that is at all helpful.)
