 Ok, so I've had BF2 for over a year now, I've got all the addons for it (Special Forces, EuroForce, Armored Fury) and have even picked up the AIX 2.0 for it, (which I must admit, is more addictive than the orginal game itself). Earlier today (12/28/08) I was playing on the AIX mod just fine as always, but when I tried to get back on later tonight, it would get to the "Connecting to Account Server" screen and stop. I tried BF2 and Special forces as well, and they all did the same thing, and even tried using a few other accounts. It all gets to the "Connecting to Account Server" screen, the music is still playing, the movie has froze, the cursor-icon is moving, but it just sits there, and sits there, and sits there. I can Ctl+Alt+Del out of the game, and when the Task Manager comes up, each time it says the game is "Not Responding." I'm wondering if updating to 1.41 will counter this problem, or if it is something with the computer... ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pentium Core2-Duo @2.4GHZ 2.5 GB RAM and over 400GB of HD space By the way, I tried the BF2 Pirates 2.0 and... it was amusing, worth trying out. Just the respawn time is way too long, and it lacks single-player maps. But online or not, it was very amusing. Especially when you get used to having a fully-automatic rifle in BF2, and suddenly find yourself using a muzzle-loaded musket, which takes forever to reload. Had sort of a Cartoony "Pirates of the Carribean" feel to it.

If you are using mods at this time, what i would do is: Reinstall the game in a secondary directory and patching to the 1.41 value. At this point, test if the 1.41 connects to servers.

If it does, it has to be a corruption of the mods i would think...

I too am having issues.

Mind you, I have not played for several months (grad school), but now it just gets stuck on the "connecting to account server". Sometimes it CTD and other times it just sticks (music still plays and mouse movable) requiring Ctrl+Alt+Del.

I have 2gb RAM, over 200gb free HD space, NVidia GeForce 7600GS.

Please help.

Hiya both of you. Have you tried making sure BF2 is configured correctly with your firewall and router? I had a simular problem due to a router not allowing the ports.
