If you built your system you should know what the motherboard is, if not then find out exactly what it is and look up what kind of processors are compatible with it. Then find one that is compatible. I'm in the process of upgrading from 2.4ghz to 3.06ghz (fastest known compatible for mobo). Its a pain in the arse trying to find one, at least for me, that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Hey if anyone knows where I can pick up this: Intel P4 Willamette/Northwood/Prescott 478 pin socket FSB 533/400mhz, 3.06 ghz???? cuz that would be great.

Ones I have been looking at are anywhere from $60-150 USD. Ive seen the super duper brand new ones for like 1000, but they will be mainstream in 2 years.
