Hi, would anybody know of a quicker way to reinstall bf2 when it invariably starts screwing around and generally not working? I've had to uninstall/reinstall 3 times now due to various problems (lag/not starting up/no ingame sound). Each time I've reinstalled the game has worked great again but each time I have to reinstall it can take a whopping 5hrs to install!! I have an intel pentium 4 3500 proc with only 512 ram (I know the ram is crap but I'm saving up for x2 1gig strips....costs megabux here in UK!!). Would more ram speed the reinstall up? Could it be my dvd drive? I'm not going to shelve out more money unless I definately know from your advice what to get.... Thanks in advance

Suggest you look for other issues than the game itself. I have NEVER seen BF2 take 5 hours to install, even with all the expansions. The fact thatt hegame regularly goes wrong also leads me to believe there is some other sort of issue going on here also, possibly hardware related that is corrupting data and causing your problems.

Oh yes, are you sure you ave that processor correct, there never wa a P4 3500 as far as I am aware. 3.2Ghz yes but not 3500, that's more AMD naming system.

my mistake...it's a p4 3000 proc...thnx. I had the same problems with bf1942 on a different computer with a completely different set-up...even on my last computer I have had problems with bf2....but because the game is worth the hastle in my opinion I've put up with it. Seems quite a few problems are "solved" with a complete uninstall/reinstall on Bf2...I update virus/spyware software and do system scans regularily so I don't think (guess!) the problem is down to spyware/trojans. Graphics card drivers are up to date although my motherboard bios might need updated (too bloomin' scared to check in case I need to do it!). Thanks
