Hello, Just recently I downloaded a windows vista transformation pack, installed it correctly and every other game works now, but BF2 and BF2142. The problem I am having is that after uninstalling and reinstalling the game at lest 3 times, I keep trying to play the game but every time I click on the icon, the BF2 start up screen appears, the closes, and nothing else happens. I opened up my task manager and watched the bf2.exe start and then right when the screen dissappears, so does the bf2.exe. I think that somthing is killing this process, but I dont know what. I am sure that I am at least 95% free of Malware, but this game just wont start, and it's my favorite, too.

Here are my specs: Intel P4 @ 3.2 GHZ 1 gb kingston RAM Nvidia AGP 6800GS 512mb ..... some more small things, (Sound card, mobo, screen etc) but I dont think I need to post them. To lazy.

ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!:D

{PL}PolishPower;3545819Hello, Just recently I downloaded a windows vista transformation pack,

Hmm, either get Vista or stop pretending, the transformation pack uses a lot of DX effects on the desktop so it is likely causing your issue, there's not a lot that can be done about unsupported windows mods.

hello sounds like software issue after uninstalling 3 times and reinstalling check your built in firewall and see if it has blocked bf2.exe or any other security software you may be running also some local peeps i know have had similar exsperience the same thing only with the vista upgrade package. also check your video card drivers make sure their uptodate with vista drivers it may be driver issue not vista

Hello, and thank you for your replies. I fixed the problem, or so it seams from deleting the bf2 folder in My Documents. But now when I join any server, I get kicked by punkbuster for "Service Abnormally"

I have looked all over thenet and havnt found anthing on this problem. Also, to cdogmn, I did research what I was downloading and I am extremly good with computers, so that coment was uncalled for.

Anyways, thanks for your help, and anymore which may fix the problem with punkbuster that I'm having right now!

Between Cdogman and Ak , they actually sum it up pretty well though, ( even though cdogman should have made his statement in a different way ofcourse.).

Ak is right, either purchase Vista or don't. If you know soo much about Pc's, then my suggestion would be to do a dual boot. Do not fool yourself. There are TONS of games out there that aren't going to work on Vista, and they have only just come out in the last Six months.

Stop the vista madness. DUAL BOOT i say... Dual boot.

{PL}PolishPower;3549360 I get kicked by punkbuster for "Service Abnormally"

you are going to have to post the correct error message, "Service Abnormally" isn't an error message from PB, actually it isn't even grammatically correct. if you can take a screenshot of the message and post it here.
