So I finally get battlefield 2 and it turns out my graphics card isnt compatible with the game so it keeps turning off at random, but it sometimes works fine aswell. Is there a way to get around this compatibility problem or should I just get a new card?
new card with Atleast 128mb memory. 256 would be best. how much ram u got? u should have atleast 512, 1gb would be best
if you get a 128 mb card you are more retarded than brian peppers
Ive got 1.25 gig of ram, and my card at the minute is a GeForce 6200 (256mb) but its not on the compatibility list, if I were to get another card it'd be a GeForce 6600 (512mb) as this is on the list and its only eighty quid. or a GeForce 6600GT (256mb) but this is about 120 quid, or can anyonme recommend a card for under 120 quid? I dunno how much that is in dollars, maybe about 220 dollars?
that should certainly be good enough for lower settings...may have other probs....id try drivers. that wont cost any squid
dude your card should wrk fine. I shud know i use the 128mb version. Update ure drivers make sure ure devices are wrking properly and then if u still have probs reinstall bf2 making sure ure completely patched up to 1.2. I f u still have probs post again and we'l see how else we can help
Your card is fine as far as compatibility goes, it's probably not listed becasue it wasn't available at the time BF2 was released, like the X300, which also works fine, I would look seriously at either some hardware issue like overheating, or possibly a driver conflict, it could only be something like that if it is randomly dropping out.
are you sure it's compatible? when i go on 'EAsy info' its tells me that the card isnt compatible, and its the only game that turns off randomly so it must be somet to do with it. I dunno, ill look into it more, thatnks for your help people :)
There are a number of ppl on the forums with that card, any Nvidia vid card later than the FX 5200 should run it, there are even a few ppl running F5200's.
ok cool, thanks
