Whenever I log onto my User Account on Windows XP My computer crashs just after it logs on and goes to a bluescreen that says that I should restart my computer if this is the first time it happened and if it isnt that i should check my driver updates. I have a ATI raedeon x800 xt and i have all the system requirments. The reason i think it has somthing to do with Battlefield 2 is the fact that its been doing this ever since i installed it. I had to uninstall it on Safe mode but the bluescreen thing kept happening so i did a system restore on safemode and now it works fine apart from the fact i can't play Battlefield 2. sad%20%28frown%29.gif Please tell me what is happening.

The following is all I can think of... It is very very unlikely that you have bad BF2 DVD/CD's, but it is a possibility. The only system type of files that BF2 installs is DirectX 9.0c. If your BF2 disc(s) are bad and installing BF2 corrupts your DirectX 9.0c installation/files then that might cause a bluescreen. That's the only thing I can think of. BF2 does not install any other system files and there should not be any other reason that you would get a bluescreen just because you installed the game. It is definitely possible that your problem is something else altogether. But the possibility of bad BF2 disc(s), however small, does exist.

Start the PC in safe mode, uninstall the game and restart the pc as normal. If the PC is fine then that narrows it down.

or start it in safe mode and use win xp system restore. Go back to a time before it was happening.

Ok i found out its not the game its somthing else because i did uninstall the game on safe-mode and its kept on bluescreening so a did a system retore awhile ago and after it starts bluescreening after acouple of reboots. I have also had a computer troubleshooter here and he could'nt find the problem either.

I think i would bite the bullet and reformat the thing, it only takes about an hour and everything gets put back the way it should be.

It does sound very much like a driver problem but try this. Start in safe mode as admin, create a new user account and see if you can restart in normal mode and log in using that. It is very easy to get a corrupt XP user account, I have seen it a number of times, and that may be your problem. If it works, copy all your important files over from the other user account and delete ti. It shouldn't affect any installed games and programs (except there may be no desktop icons for them)
