Ok.. so everytime I select the X-FI option in the options menu, then select my quality (Ive tried High and Very High), the game crashes as soon as I hit Apply. Anybody else experience this?

Pretty similar to the system I'm running. :) I don't know what to think about the problem for certain. The game is still pretty new, that audio card is brand new. I'm interested in getting one because they sound pretty darn cool from the specs and the review I read at Tomshardware. Of course I'd want to know that it's going to work with BF2!! Perhaps you should e-mail EA tech support and let them know about this, and Creative. Could be that the game needs fixing, could be that the driver for the audio card needs fixing, could be be a combination of both. Sorry I can't be of much more help.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. I comes with a patch for Doom 3 that adds X-Fi support. If I get unlazy I might try that out. See if its an X-fi mode problem or something. Anyways, Yeah! I saw your specs and I was all... whoh! Thats just like my system!

OK! For anybody who picks up this card... I think there is a problem when upgrading from another Creative product.... What I did originally was remove the old Audigy card... uninstall old drivers and software.. reboot.. and install the new card. Aparently, the old install leaves behind some registry keys that mess with the X-fi settings. Sooo... I uninstalled the X-fi software... ran driver cleaner pro from http://www.drivercleaner.net then reinstalled. Now It runs like a champ. My framerates are up in BF2 and I have the Ultra High sound quality set. AWESOME! :)
