I've been playing bf2 for about 3 years now and have never really encountered this problem. I am running an Asus Notebook with these specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300, 4gb of memory, Geforce 8600GS, 160gb HD.
So when I start up the game WITH my 22" LG monitor connected, everything works dandy. BUT when I'm trying to run it on my laptop, the game starts up to a black screen, and then exits back out to the desktop without any error messages. Yes I have checked to make sure that my specs meet the requirements. And yes, I have tried to play around with monitor refresh rates and settings on both my desktop with and without the monitor connected and the ingame video settings. I am now at a loss as to why it keeps doing this. Please someone help me as I have read a lot about this problem (using google lol).
It's a profile file, that contains a list of your hardware, I had the exact same problem, but I can't remember which file it is exactly. When you install BF2, and then change the hardware, it doesn't recognize the new Monitor( in my case, and it seems, yours). I'd try deleting all the folders in My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles EXCEPT for the Default folder.
If someone knows which file I'm talking about, have at it.
I have the same proplem =( Nobodyu of my battlfeild games works
I have had this problem before, you must have a NIVIDA graphics card and you must have 512mb or over memory.... If that doesn't work E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
