OK.... well I'm still looking around for video cards. Funds have been a bit of a problem to secure so I'm starting as low as I can, and if I can get more cash before it comes time to make a purchase I can upgrade if need be. Here are the 3 I've narrowed it down to so far. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814135164R http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814121205R http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814164043R I know I'm taking a risk since they're all refurbished, but it's what I can afford. Only problem is since they're preowned there aren't any customer reviews so I was wondering if anyone here had any opinions. by the way, if anyone is intrested, I'm trying to move a bunch of old comics and games to pay for this card. If your into that kinda stuff check it out. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZstilsmokin60QQhtZ-1

Ahh.... They are all bad cards... ... They are all moreless the same but the LE version is worse...
They are all horrid cards, get a 7600GT, its moreless the same price as a 6600GT and its a LOT faster....
I would sugeest you save up ur cash a little longer before purchasing a Gcard... because those ones are horrid.. within 5 months those cards wont beable to play anything respectfully..
Well that's all cool for the most part. I take my time with my upgrades. I'm only getting a new card to play BF2. Nothing else. I don't plan on getting Quake Wars or even BF Future Crappy Version. I've been playing BF on my horrible FX 5500 since I got the game and I can't take it anymore. I'm just looking for something that'll give me a nice smooth experience. I don't need crazy real lighting and what not. So.... based off that, how bad do these look now?

Well save just a LIL smidgen more for a 6600GT.. a GT, i had a 6600GT before my 7900GTX, and it ran BF2 at medium high at a FPS about 50-60..
So, best bet would be a 6600GT, the difference between a 6600 and a 6600GT is clock speeds for the Core and memory and performance difference is quite large..

with those cards you listed, depending on how much ram u have, ure cpu and whether you've done any optimization on bf2 and windows assuming uve done some tweaking have 1gb of RAM and 2.0ghz processor or above then you should be able to play bf2 with no or very little graphical lag on medium - low with no aa, no dynamic shadows or lighting. So bf2 will still look good, but without all the really beautiful stuff, bit like my set up really.
Well I'm set there except for the processor which is 1.7 and I have 2 gigs of ram... Basically like you said, I'd just like to be able to play with everything at about medium.
There crud cards mate, you are still going to get lag and server lag spikes, l would go for at least a 7600gt or even better by a touch, your cpu is lagged a touch, the video card can save it if its powerfull enough, and your ram is a lifesaver in that system.
Alright... I sold a few games over the week and this is in my price range now. How's this one look?
For its money its good, it also has sm3, however, alot of people are going to tell you this card will run high settings, and it will with lag, its a medium card, keeping aa ,af , dynamic light n shadows off will save it ingame, its not a bad choice, so long as your happy with medium settings for a smooth game. You may be able to get it to run smooth on high in 16 ppl maps if your LUCKY, short of that try and find a 7600 model card. 6600gt Your looking at reasonably high resolutions with medium texture, at full view distance, with dynamic everything off.
Sm3 could give you some drama on large maps with heavy fog, you may need to lower the settings further.

Good choice m8, i had one of those until a few weeks ago and it was very good. And beleive it or not as long as you dont use too high a resolution you actually can have most of the eye candy on to some level.
