Hey, I'm looking to buy BF2 and 2142, I was just wondering if someone could show me a few cards that would run them? I have PCI(NOT express or anything fancy, just PCI) slots but cannot seem to find any cards. Thanks in advance.

how much are you looking to spend? the nvidia 8600 gts good card and not hard on your pockets, also you can try the ATI x800xl, or x850xl, any of these cards will run the game on high with BF2 and med to high on Bf2142

What the...? I may be a lousy google user, but I do not see any of those two cards with PCI, only PCI-E... Anyways, if I were you, I'd probably get a new motherboard, doesn't have to be very expensive (at all) with a PCI-E slot, and, unless of course you already have that, upgrade to 2GB of ram and then go get yourself a... I don't know really, perhaps a nVidia 7400 gt or something? They're like one of the highest rated graphics cards out there, as far as I know (too busy to find out tho, so I may be mistaken)... I'd think this would give you some decent frame rates at decent settings, but not the highest...

Also, before someone feels obliged to investigate my bullshit further, I'd like to say that I don't really know what I'm talking about :naughty: Just trying to give you some inspiration...

EDIT: Oh, right, forgot to mention, I took your post as a "I don't think my card will handle bf very well, which one should I get?" and not a "I want to play bf at the freaking highest settings available and get it on my 42" monitor and a resolution of 2560 x 2048"... 'Cos I pretty much got what I just described... Pentium 4 3.21GHz, XP home ed, and then I upgraded my card from an ATI x600 pro to nVidia 7900GT which didn't make much of a difference, but then I fed this baby with another GB of ram (got 2 now) and it's running on highest... So the graphics card isn't everything... But you may already know all of this, in that case, sorry :D

You are correct, they do not come in PCI versions. You may find a PCI card that will run BF1942, a 5200 or 9600 or similar, but not BF2. I am afraid you are out of luck.
