Hello I bought the BF2 Complete Collection about 2 weeks ago, and until about half an hour ago I was happily getting the snot kicked out of me by jerks in Cobras. Few glitches here and there ("oh look, that house has randomly changed geometry again" "hmm I wonder if these strange shards coming from my crosshair are deliberate?") but nothing that bothered me much. Solved most of them by setting things down to medium and turning off the Catalyst AI. Anyway, I decided to play Dawn of War today, and I had a few issues with text filtering (made it virtually unreadable) so after a bit of searching I stumbled across ATI Tray Tools, a wonderful little replacement for the bloated ATI Catalyst Control panel, the 3 previews on which have ceased working properly for me for months. So I fiddle with the antistropic filtering and the Catalyst AI settings, still nothing. Then I say "ah to hell with it" and used ATI Tray Tools profile setting and I used the "Max Quality" setting. Well, Dawn of War works great, and looks great, and even Armada II looks better (the Anti-Aliasing kicked in I'd wager). However, then I come to play EA's little gem, BF2. It loads about the first half second of the title video (but I don't see it, just hear it) then boom, crash to desktop. I try again, and now it just hangs at a black screen unless I use Task Manager to close it. While hearing the PC exclaim "EA Gay" (thats all I hear of the title) is humourous and factually pretty dead on, its not exactly what I want when I try to play BF2. My system setup is AMD Sempron 2.6ghz 2ghz DDR 333mhz RAM 1 x 80Gb HD 1 x 300Gb HD (BF2 is on this one, has about 140Gb Free) ATI Radeon X800XT As I said, it was working fine until I edited my graphics card settings with ATI Tray Tools, although why setting everything to max would knacker BF2, especially at the bizaare point at which it crashes (1 second into the title vid) baffles me. Any help is appreciated Squire James
I would die without GF

Setting you graphics card back to standard settings and testing would be a good start. You can also try disabling the startup movies by renaming the files using this guide and see if that helps.
well, I got it working, turns out it doesn't like running when ATI Tray Tools is active. However, even with the settings back to what they were, everything on BF2 runs really slow. Even the menu background biks and the menus themselves. I'm not sure why its suddenly going slow.
What would your reccomended settings be for my afforementioned system?
