i decided to reinstall bf2 but when i try i get an error "Md5Error C:\program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Mods\bf2\levels\kubra_dam\client_zip, Retry? " and i wonder why do i get this damn error ...can someone help??? PLZ
Hmm, an md5error is usually a cheksum error (means the data being read is different from the data being written according to the checksum error code when the two checksums are compared), so the version of client_zip fileonthe HDD is comingout different form the client_zip file on the CD.
Can be caused by error reading from the CD, but more likely error writing to the HDD. Do a full scandisk of the drive withsurface scan and see if it comes up with anything. If nothing make sure your CD is undamaged and also get a CD/DVD cleaner disk and run it through your drive and see if that helps.
Finally, there are some virus's and spyware around that can alter the files as theyare installed onto the HDD from the CD, so also do a thorough AV and spyware cleanout.
where can i got do a scandisk?
Click on My Computer, find your hard drive, right click on the hard drive and select Properties. Tools > Error-Checking.
alright i checked my HD ...and it does the same thing when i install...could it be because my windows xp cd was scratched and my xp might have missing or currupt files?
