This has been on going it been happening since i first upgraded to the patch 1.1 this lag has kicked in and has been there ever since i don't understand why on my computer i have upgraded everything but the motherboard & Processor. It will be fine for the first hour or two then i get magor lag and have to restart the PC just to play and it doing it again after an hour or so again. It did the same with my X800XL which was why i got a 7800GTX, then when i gone SLI it seems to happen even sooner, still the same i have the latest drivers and my ping depending on the server is anywhere from 20~150 for my 4MB connection. AMD Athlon X2 4400+ @ 2600MHz 2GB Crucial Tracer PC4000 RAM 2x WD Raptor X drives in RAID - 0 2x 7800GTX SLi cards not overclocked SB Xfi Fatility FPS ASUS A8N SLi Premium 1013 BIOS Most detail on high but shadows and lighting are med, technicaly i should be getting 150fps. Once plaing the game and it starts lagging i quit and play another it still lags in all games, restart the PC works fine, formated the computer still does the same changed video card chipset companies problem still there am using the latest drivers for all devices. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY!!!

It could be that your cpu is running to hot and becomes unstable causing you game lag. there is no way you could get ping lag running on a T1 cable

What is your internet connection setting in BF2, if it is set to T1 then try setting it to 256kbs or better because that uses less bandwith.

In the options in BF2 i have had it set to cable as well as LAN, the processor runs warm but not hot C47 max load with both core's fully loaded as i have watercooling. I am going to try and run BF2 without any overclocking at all and see what happens.

l have a 4400+ and 2 gigs of ram and lve had a similar problem a few times, a couple of times its has come up ''mem leak'', and the game shuts down, that is a game fault, yours does sound like overheating cpu or ram, how cool is your case ? Nice looking system, shouldnt lag at all in bf2, its capable of far more.

Nope may run about 30C those 4 140mm fans bring in over 250CFM's I have just changed out my PSU to a Epsilon 700w SLi approved w/4 15A 12v rails this should supply cleaner power to the overclocked CPU.

Well i got a new board MSI K8N Diamond Plus same thing found out what it was, It was the Audio settings Seems the game DOES NOT Like the Creative Xfi w/ Ultra sound enabled dispite having a high end Xfi card needless to say i am pissed off, no lag when i use hardware audio with ultra high settings.

that must be a bitch having a system like that and still gettin problems All i can say is remove any overclocking (bf2 doesnt like it) and just check everything for overheating. Make sure you havent got any background processes like msn or antivirus/firewall interfering also
