Try this for a start, "some weird errors" is not an official MS or DICE or ATI/Nvidia error message. You need to provide some information about the errors, I will come back later and see if you have given us some more info and see if I can help, but until then you will get little help.

Sorry bought that. It runs fine the first time and then the second time I get "BF2 has encountered and unexpected error and must close". forcing me to reboot. I tried repatching and I don't get the error as much but it still rears it's ugly head. and sorry for the delay but the site was down yesterday.

how much ram and what type of ram ? Cas latency is ? Usually when you get this type of error , it is listed as a software error and in most cases is cause for a clean reinstall of the game.

If you go this route, make sure you delete ALL references of the game from hard drive and use a program or manually delete the key that is created in the registry.

Corsair XMS twinx2048-3200c22x1gig I repatched but I guess I'll reinstall the game and see if that works.

sometimes this happens to me, but since bf2 wont perform well if i dnt play frm a clean reboot i dnt mind anyway. But since your comps one hell of a lot more capable then i would recommend a clean install and could you tell us wot background processes you have running

PieMastr "BF2 has encountered and unexpected error and must close".

First of all this isn't a BF2 error message, this is a windows error message, so the problem may be nothing to do with BF2. It could be a conflict with some running software so shut down all uneccessary software and test, or it could actually be some sort of memory error. It could also be a variation of the X2 problem, there are some MS patches out for running BF2 and other games on a dual core processor so I suggest downloading those and trying them. Also try this, start BF2, alt/tab out and start task manager, go to the process window, highlight the BF2.exe process, right click and select affinity, remove the tick from one box, alt/tab to BF2 and see if it runs ok.

Its not an MS patch, try going to the AMD website, www.amd.com. top one on this page.
