Ok, I have tried many things, as well as following those guides that say how to optimize your computer for BF2, and I've set my graphics on the default High setting, however I turn the lighting and all the other lightnings to medium instead of high, and I set my resolution to 75 hz @ 1024 x 768, which is extremely low in my standards. I have a 19" Sony Trinitron, and I'm used to 1280 x 1024 or 1600 x 1200, yet if I dare try those resolutions I'll slaughter my performance to a FPS in the decimals. What I have tried so hard to do, is make the game run decent without looking horribly ugly. I refuse to play the game if it's going to look worse than BF1942, which its getting very close to doing, yet it still lags, even when I'm offline with just 16 player singleplayer! I've defragged my hard drive, and deleted all my cookies, temp files, and spyware using several devices, in the hopes this would help. I close everything non-vital to my system when playing BF2, and yet it still lags. Lots of the times, the lag I get, if I just run in a straight line its not there almost at all, but if I try and turn in 360s, or even just turn quickly to one direction, it gets very jerky. I've also made sure I have the latest drivers and everything for my graphics card and everything as well. I'll list my computer specs, and I'd like if theres something that is particularly making my computer run badly that anyone can notice, that you could help me to make this game run better. My Specs Monitor: 19" Sony Trinitron Multiscan 400PS Speakers: Logitech Z-5500s Digital Sound Card: M-Audio Revolution 5.1 Processor: Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0E GHz @ 800 FSB Motherboard: Intel D865GBF Graphics Card: MSI NX6600 GT w/ 128 mb AGP Memory: 1 GB (2 x 512 mb) PC2700 DDR SDRAM (Not Dual Channel) Hard Drives: 100 Gig Western Digital + 80 Gig Segate Barracuda both @ 7,200 RPM and Ultra ATA 133 Power Supply: 350 watts total output max Operating System: Windows XP Pro w/ SP2 If there is anything that is severly limiting my computer, or something that could be changed that would substantially improve my performance, I'd be very appreciative. I enjoy the game, I just can't play it for anything and it's very depressing. Thanks for any and all help!

Sorry but there is no way in the world that this card;

Graphics Card: MSI NX6600 GT w/ 128 mb AGP

has ANY chance of running the game in with much set at high quality at the settings you desire. 1024X768 maybe, but at the higher resolution you are quite correct in your statement, they will kill it. Consider this card as a mid range card for BF2. To get anywhere near high quality at 1600X1200 you will need to start at 6800GT and work your way up. Personally a 7800 is going to be my next upgrade.

I have a 6200 (not the TC kind). I run all my settings on medium except effects and model detail (those are on high), 1024x768 60@hrz.

And the game runs very smooth. Only hicups when right in the middle of a arty drop.

I keep a avrg. of 30-34 fps. which isn't to bad for me. I can still play and have fun with it.

I would set most settings on medium such as ground texture, lighting, and shadows on low. no AA, AF. Try to keep the effects on high, and mybe model detail. See how that works.

AK is right not a good enough card to run everything on high...at those res. Or mybe keep everything on high an lower that refeshrate to 1280x1024 @60.....that probly help a bit especially on a 19". Just poke arounda bit and find the right combo for your rig..
