Ok, so i got the 1.4 beta thinking everyone would have it, which was wrong. Theres 1 server and I hate it, I cant play and im friggen pissed off because I just spent an hour trying to download 1.3. I eventually got it and installed it but it made no difference and bf2 still thinks I have 1.4. I just got POE and I want to play so can someone tell me how to roll back from 1.4 to 1.3 ?.

I tried looking for some sort of program to do that but I couldn't find one. All help is appreciated.

You CANNOT roll back from 1.4, your only option is a complete re-install if you wish to keep all other things the same. Of course you could use system restore to roll the entire computer back a few weeks and see if that works, but that will also roll back all other changes.

Why on earth would you install the 1.4 beta anyway? It hasn't been officially released.

You lent your friend your BF2 CD's? Presumably you also lent him your CD key? You realise if he and you play online at the same time your cd key may get blocked or even banned and therefore become useless? Suggest you get it and them back and get him to uninstall the game.

He isnt using my cd key. My other friend who doens't play anymore gave him his cdkey, we can play together. However I didn't know you could get banned for using the same key twice...

Yup. EA are quite strict about it since technically it IS evidence of piracy, ie. more than one person who has installed their product using the same disks and key!

They may even cancel the CD key making BOTH (all) copies invalid meaning you have to buy another new disk + cd key! AFAIK PB can do this! PLUS Didn't you read the documentation that came with the 1.4beta regarding making a COPY of the entire BF2 folder and keeping 1.3. 1.4beta is a BETA which means it is likely to f**** up and/or not work properly. And they said only a few servers would be running it. What did you expect? EA knew this and told those who did update to make a copy.. why didn't you?

I did. It was plain and clear in the documentation and in the docs for every server hosting the beta. One option now is to wipe and reinstall BF2 and patch using the FULL patch upto 1.3.

Failing that just wait for the PROPER 1.4 ALPHA (the one that we're all waiting for!) and HOPE that EA have made it so that it can update to the latest version from 1.3 AND the 1.4beta. If it doesn't, then a reinstall is in order!

Some people make a rod for their own backs, methinks!

You need to go on :

more often and RTFM IMHO!
