I just bought the game and after I installed it I downloaded patch 1.4. It still says 1.1 on the the top right screen when playing mulitplayer and it is so jumpy and messed up that it is not worth playing. I have heard great reviews about this game and I really want to play it. The patch downloaded with no problems. My specs: Intel dual processor with a 7900 GS Niveda card. I appreciate all the help I can get because I really want to start playing this game online.

In some instances , you must turn off one of your "cores" as it only " confuses the game" when running it. Try that and hit us back.

Yes sounds very muich like the Diual Core issue. Start the game, alt/tab out and fire up task manager, go to the processes tab, select the bf2 process, right click and select "set affinity" from the menu and untick one of the CPU's. Test and report back.

As to the version issue, you should be running 1.1.2963-795.0 for the 1.4 patch. You will find this number in the bottom left hand of the menu window. The actual version number is not related to the patch file version number.

I tried that and it didn't work. It says my ping is only 246 and I keep getting kicked out of games. How can I make the ping higher?

Your ping being high is the reason you are getting kicked out of games. The lower your ping is th ebetter off you are. Are you behind a router ?

Hvae you traced your route to the game server to see if you have lost any packets on the way through router transfers ?

Yes, I am hooked up to the internet through a wireless router that is located about 20 yards away. I'm not sure how to trace back to see if i have lost any files. It's weord though, I can play half-life 2 and couter strike fine online.

Suggest finding a closer server with a lower ping. Your ping may be 246 but that's pretty close to 250, and that's where most servers put the ping limit, if you go over that several times, or for more than a few seconds, you will get kicked.
