Today i had to wipe out my hard drive cause of a virus i had on my comp. After all of the reloading was done i installed BF2. Then patch 1.03 and 1.12 but after i click the icon for the 1.21 patch it gives me an error that says that i must install 1.12 patch in order to install 1.21.

my comp specs. Soyo mother board (socket A) 6600GT 256 2 SATA 40gig hd 2.21GHZ oc processor

Do you gave SF, if you have did you install 1.12, 1.2, SF, 1.21, in that order? If so you MUST insatall 1.2 again before installing 1.21.

there is no sch thing, a virus cannot just stop you from using your computer, it was probably an error or something of that sort

Well it could have been a virus that deleted an important file.. and the restoration of his hardrive replaced the file....

a Virus will overwrite a file sure.. but to delete is very rare..

All u had to do was boot up in safe mode with networking and do an online virus scan, their free, Or you could have restored settings to a previous restore point...

There are ways besides reformatting a hard drive losing all information
