This evening I've discovered out that my computer has a problem: I had the chance to see what was going on just on Bf2 so i've decided to post here.

As I'm not very good at describing 'stuff' I'll just show you some creenshots.

-My desktop stranoxq9.th.jpg

-Bf2 (When i load a game it doesn't show any kind of problems but after a short period of time it starts to screw up) screen003fk8.jpg

-Bf2 (When things are getting out of hand) screen008ri8.jpg

I've got an old Radeon 9800pro

Thnx, Geox

what i would do: install latest drivers for the card, driect x, screen mode (could be more then your monitor can handle try changing the screen size and color depth) how long ago did you buy your card? if its old then it may be time to replace it do the glitches change place as you play bf2 or any other app/program?

Looks like artifacts caused by overheating, check your vidcard cooling and temps.

Dude i have the exact same problem, and the same RADEON 9800 PRO Video Card. I have tried installing latest drivers twice for Direct X, and my card but it is still bad. I've also tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game with no luck. I thought it was a heating problem too but its not, (at least for me anyway). What is even weirder is that this just started a few days ago. :(

My RADEON 9800 PRO is about 3 years old, is that the average life span of a video card?

Sorry i would have posted my own "thread" but im a n00b at this.

SOLUTION!!!

I kept fiddling with my settings trying to see if anyone of them would work and walla!

Turn your overall quality to high in your video settings under options. thats it! (at least for me sorry if it doesn't for you :(.)

yep i got this too :( any help would be great, i use a different setup to these peeps 2 x XFX 6600GT in sli. Cards are at 43 and 48 degrees c, cpu 32 and mobo 31 degrees i dont think thats hot (compared to the shut down temps) i play it high settings @1280-1024 res i dropped these to 1024-768 still the same, but funny enough if you alt/tab minimise the game for 30 secs or so then alt/tab back inn it's fine for a while .

any ideas peeps ????

I started having a simular problem as soon as I installed the new patch (1.41)(ATI Radion 9800 Pro). I thought it was a temp problem also, since it didn't start right away, but I seriously doubt it since it only started once I had installed the new patch. I tried the trick of switching from medium graphics to high, but that didn't fix it either. It seems to work OK for a bit, then starts messing up worse and worse.

I thought i had it fixed but it does only work for a while:( But now it starts going bad as soon as i turn on my computer without even playin BF2. Im starting to think i have to re-install windows but ill only do that as a last resort. (Restoring my PC doesn't work either, tried it) THX in advance.

Hehe funny enough i have the exact same problem with my Video Card. 9800pro 128mb. ive had the problem for a week now. i oild the fan, i put OCZ thermal paste on it yet it doesnt do much. Sure turning up the settings work but it wil make it worse as your video card wil stop responding, freeze everything, if you have VPU on recover then it wil work after a few seconds if not then BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. So after trying after a while i believe my efforts been exhausted. ATI X1300512mb AGP only goes for a little over 100 dollars... any other video card i should take into consideration?

**!!! i refuse to upgrade to PCI-E!
