Though I have visited nearly all "PB Topics" on this crazy net, I still have not found a proper solution to my problem. When joining a server, usually within the first 5 seconds of being in the server after the lonngg connection, I encounter an error saying, inadequate O/S Privileges. I do have administrator on my system. I have clicked BF2 Icon and gone to run as Owner, however the problem still remains.

have you tried manually updating punkbuster or downloading and using the automatic PBWEB updater?

Yea, I've tried both manually and Pbweb. pbweb worked well for me, getting all updates etc. Btw, what is the latest PB version? I believe when i type PB_VER in console for the 5 seconds I am in the game, it says I have version 1.28 or something.

Nope. Punkbuster itself, seems up to date. It could be more of a system error. The whole Inadequate operating system privileges has me confused though. I have only one profile on this computer, running with Windows XP, and that is Owner.

There is not many ways to say I hardly have a clue, I had a problem for over 2 weeks where i could not play the game because i could not get into servers, on sunday i formatted my hard disk and the game runs alot better than before and the problem is completely gone, and my computer runs smoother on all games, just stick saves from games or important documents on a cd or network (if you have one). doesn't take too long if you do a quick format too.

The "inadequite os privilages" was an update done by punkbuster about a year ago. This made them able to HARDWARE ban people for using hacks and cheats. >>>>CLICKY ME And go to Number 4<<<< Hope that helps.

Almost, but the only problem that was not included in the response is that I am already administrator on my computer. I run BF2 as admin and still, it disconnects me and says, "Inadequate O/S Privilages."

Inadequate O/S Privilages." means that Youre in a limited account on youre windows XP accounts. Go on the account that is the "Admin" or you might have too much accounts as "Admin" . The same prob happend to me a long time ago.

I do understand what you mean. However, when I log off my computer, it only shows one user. That user is the account I always log back in with, "Owner." a.k.a (Administrator)
