Hi guys, ive had 1gb of ram on my laptop for some time now and since i gt it bf2 has run brilliantly. However lately ive been getting loads of random lag, slower loading times and even the 'run out of memory' blue screen of death. Its really bugging me as i dont know whats causing this, it cud be to do with 1.2 (memory leak perhaps?) or maybe my comp isnt using my memory properly? Can any1 help specs: Pentium M 1.73 1gb ram Geforce go6200 128mb

TRANSLATION: I think it's the patch because I've had things popping up saying "Memory Leak: BF2" so I think it's the patch. But you said you got 1 gigabyte of RAM so I can't see how you could run out unless you are using other programs on: MSN, Anti-Virus software, etc. Turn those off and it might solve problems; but I don't guarantee it would stop it. :nodding:

i doubt thats the problem as i dnt run anyother programs while playing bf2 and ive optimized windows so there arnt any processes running other than the ones i need. Its probably the patch but to be sure, is their anyway of testing that my RAM is working fine (like some program i can dwnload or something) thanx

Ok i did a test using www.pcpitstop.com online scan instead and it said everything was ok, however it did advise me to some extra tweaks and processes that i could shut off, for instance the process which is constantly cheking for updates for my printer (which i dnt care about) which not only was using about 10mb of ram but also alot of cpu and sort of conflicted wit bf2. However its disabled along with a few other usless processes and bf2 is running much better now. Thanks guys 4 your help, and also i throughly recommend www.pcpitstop.com use its online scans to find out if ure comps running ok and what useless services are running.
