ok i just bought a new pc and installed all my games and everything runs fine, except recently ive been experiencing problems with BF2. Ill open the game fine and join a server alright, but after maybe 30 minutes of playing ill get either a black screen that just randomly goes black and then goes back to the game, or the game will just close by itself. I really dont know what to do. Im wondering if this is due to a faulty piece of hardware, but i tend to lean more toward the game because it only happens with BF2. I get no error messages or anything, it just seems like my comp wants to fuck with my head :p My comp specs are 1gig ram (2x512) 160gig hard drive with more than 7/8 free space amd athlon 64 3800+ windows xp sound blaster audigy 4 nvidia geforce 6200se (soon to be ati x850 XT) im wondering if maybe its just that my graphics card is having trouble handling the game and is forcing the cpu to have a more intense load, causing the system to get hot, or maybe ill just have to wait till i get my new card until the problem will stop, since the geforce 6200 is a piece of crap.
oh yea i forgot to add, if it just blacks out then goes back to game, this will keep happening at intervals and may just randomly stop, or will go until the game closes by itself, also sometimes i can play for hours and nothing will happen at all. I close all background programs so im relaly confused.
What settings do you have your sound card on, it sounds like possibly a compatability issue.
What are you looking at?

As far as I am concerned the cause of this is not your PCs' preformance. It happened to me several times and I started to search for the reason. I didn't have to look much further than the desctop. I think that the programs that run in the background can cause such things in BF2. Since they start to do something else than BF2 which somehow might cause the game to give shuch signals as the game needs more performance than your comp. :uhh: Ok I really doubt u would understand what I wrote above.:agreed Since I barely understand it. What I think is that the programs in the background might take away space from let us say the veideo card memory. And since myn is on the limit 256, the least space is necesarry for the game. Thus causing the game to crash. The source of the problem might be MSN, yahoo and other messengering programs. BUT ALL PROGRAMS SUCH AS SCANS AND SO ON CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. with me
I didn't make it!
if it happens to your pc even not in the game try the power management and disable that balck screen thing!!! Are you experiencing problems in battlefield 2 only??? if yes try to borrow cds of your friends with BF2 and install it. if it still happen... check your windows version and last try to put your RAM in opposite places from their last place!!! trust me!!! cause game crashes are bugs! is it fake or original???:D
its original and only happens with BF2 and its a very recent problem so i know its not my cds, ill try the power management thing and for the sound card guy, what do u mean by settings? i have eax and cmss stereo sound on
In the game, do you have hardware sound or software sound in the audio settings.
i have hardware settings on high with EAX
Acer565i have hardware settings on high with EAX
Then maybe there's your problem, the Creative Audigy series does not support hardware sound ingame, change it to software and see how you go.
