Well my story (il present it in the form of a short story because i like story's if u dont like story;s go read next topic.): I were a happy and proud BF2 player for like until the first patch. Happy and exited to see the changes in the patch i downloaded and installed than the shock.. The horror! IT LAGGED! And evry thing became crappy. But! There was a ligth at the horizon patch 1.2. Hoping for a fix i downloaded and installed it but nothing could dissapoint me more. The game now ly's in a dusty corner of my room looking at me asking me: Why... Than i say: Sorry but EA fucked you up, you were so great so magnificent but even a reinstal of you dident help. Well back to BF42 - DCF it was for me and the skill and the profesionality i saw online i missed that if you were a noob you were killed in the most eye catching kills. EA is ask you, no i demand you: Fix the game make evrybody happy to play without lag. And please fix the guns some accuracy would be realy nice. Than i look to the shelf and i see UT2004 i smile and click the shortcut on my desktop... There and now after a godlike match im sitting here, writing this hoping someone will see it, read it, and most preferbly some one from EA and than tell what i told you. Let EA fix BF2 to its glory that it deserves! (And before anyone starts screaming for system spec and all: My rig is completly capable of playing BF2 in high detail and my connection to the internet isent slow with 300Kbps.)

"300Kbps."

Yes that is slow!

BANDWIDTH

- Minimum 2.5 Mbit

- Recommended 5Mbit

Although I get away with 1.5 Mbit without to many problems, so if your system specs are as slow as your supposedly fast connection speed then that's the problem, however you have come to the help forum, apparantly for help, then flat our refused to tell us your system specs. I refuse to supply any help unless the requestor actually supplies me with the information I need, I have wasted my afternoon to many times helping ppl who simply have no idea about their computer capabilities, when a simple specs listing told me what the problem was in about 2 seconds! In fact this doesn't seem to be a request for help at all, more a whinge (OK I will call it a "rant & rave") than any sort of help request, unless you do actually have a probelm you want help with I will move this to "rants and raves" tommorow.

AMD 3400+ ATI Radeon 850XT 2 GB DDR400 ram 200 Gig hdd My specs, But when i had BF2 unpatched i played without lag and my connection were even slower (it has been upgraded to 300kbps by the provider). So i dont realy know the origin of the prob it happened after patching so im seeing that as the cause.

Those are the speeds required to run a server NOT multiplayer. With those speeds you quote, 99.999% of the world couldnt play it. 2mb is fair to say the most anybody in the UK at present would be able to get. BF2 I think uses about 12k/s I think and shouldnt be an issue even on your connection. As for the lag thing, you need to tell me some system specs. Theres a few tricks around that seem to work for some. Enabling triple buffering for my 6800gt seem to do wonders. Others said the same. Dont ask me why, it actually shouldnt make any diff, but does seem to. Other things I had to do wasdrop to medium textures + light + shadows (this is at 1280xwhatever), everything else on high/full, that's with AA (but that's cause I can on a 68gt without any real hit) There is the renaming the exe trick to disable whatever in the driver. People with low end systems report good results with that. Also choose servers carefully. Some ranked servers seem to lag and others, all in the same ping sort of range are fine. I wouldnt resign it to the bin just yet, it's worth the effort to get going. Slim
