I have not been able to play BF2 since nearly a month now due to this problem I am having. Please help. Every time I try to connect to any server, after a couple of seconds playing the server gives me the message: 'There is a problem with your connection.' and after that the game is un-playable. It seems like I have lag but my ping is between 40 and 90 max, and all my other online games run perfectly fine and fast so there really cannot be a problem with the connection. Did any of you ever have this problem too? Is there a patch that I missed out on? Any ideas what I could do? Thx for all the replies in advance! Cheers! Flo.

I did. Your lag is only part of the equation, make sure the server you are on has low ping (about 100-150 lower is better, higher is unplayable).

So you are saying as long as I play on low-ping servers I should be fine? Thx.

Not necessarily. We can't personally check your computer for problesm, that was a suggestion to try out, not a sure fix.

Have you checked the usual suspects? Firewall, Spyware, Virus and etc?

A firewall is usually a free or purchase piece of software that filters incoming and outgoing internet traffic, you will have to look for yourself. For instance, do you have Norton Internet Security, if you do then you have a frewall.

BTW what did you use to check for virus and spyware problems?

Use:

This will get you pretty clean. Are you using Winxp?,and are you using service pack two ? Do you have a DSL connection? most DSL modems have a hardware firewall built in.

MaltaFloi use ad-ware

AND?

What do yo use to check for viruses? If the answer is still ad-aware then you are probably crawling with bugs, you are probably so badly infected just chatting with you like this is dangerous :D

Get some Anti-Virus software, AVG, Avast, doesn't matter which one, and check for viruses/
