Hi, I'm not exactly sure what this error message you're getting with common files is about, but you can just uninstall the game manually. I will copy and paste in directions I gave to someone else on how to do this for the full game, not the demo. The fellow was wanting to uninstall and reinstall BF2, and he said he had to search the registry and delete another item or two above and beyond what was in my instructions. But anyway, manually uninstalling the demo should be very similar to manually uninstalling the full game. If you decide to try it, please be careful about what you delete from the Windows registry. Don't go and start deleting just any old thing that's in the registry. Good luck. *** Note: Selecting and then deleting a parent key or folder will automatically delete all the subkeys/folders underneath it. *** ------------------------------------------------

"Ponte" In the wake of the new hotfix patch arriving shortly, I tried to un-install BF2 from my computer, and after it gives me the selection of which language I want, and after a brief loading bar saying "so and so is preparing Install Shield", it dissapears, and nothing happens. If anyone can help me with un-installing BF2 entirely from my computer, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.
"OneTinSoldier" 1) Log in as Administrator. 2) Open up the Registry editor. Click Start --> Run --> (type in) regedit --> press Enter 3) Delete the following registry keys(and subkeys)... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DICE\Battlefield 2(TM) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 4) Delete the following folders(and subfolders) from your hard drive... C:\Documents and Settings\YourWindowsUserName\My Documents\Battlefield 2 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
Thanks a lot man, worked like a charm. The only thing I needed to add was to open up Reg Edit again and search for Battlefield 2 and delete any un-install keys and was able to install Battlefield 2 right after that :) God damn I love forums.

------------------------------------------------ I hope that helps you killer400, OneTinSoldier
