I have built a new pc today and the same day i bought bf2 and installed it. The first time the game played for a few seconds than a blue screen of death showed up for a split second than the comp restarted. Now when the game loads i am able to play for a few seconds again but now it freezes and i have to restart the computer. Same problem with bf1942. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My comp is AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ 2 gigs of ram 7800gtx ko 256 DFI lan party DR SLI

If it has blue screened on another game .. You have a few things in common... Could be memory .. Take both out and swap the spots. Update Vid Drivers? sound drivers?

And you know this for sure because? Funny ... Seems as though he can run the pc. But the only thing he is having problems with ( according to him) is hl2 and bf2.

How many fans do u have to cool your computer cause even though ur system specs say 42-55C but playing a high end game can increase to 56-70C even loading the game can make your computer very hot and its probably an on board saftey system which detects a certain heat so it restarts so u dont fry your processor and u can change in your bios. Also did u over clock your computer which is very risky and can make your comp. unstable. if its on stock settings lower ur bus and increase your multiplyer to have the same processor speed.

Try reinstalling all of the chipset drivers for your motherboard, it sounds as though the drivers for that are at fault, otherwise as someone said previously, do check the ram modules as well.
