according to the November edition of PC Gamer, Half Life 2 is being pushed back to 11/14/03, the same date suggested by various websites across the web. however, i trust Norman for his usually-accurate release dates, so i sit patiently, and hope that teh extra time means more quality. :( :o
yer thats a shame
If so why aint valve said anything? Theres a week before its meant to be released surley they would have said something by now? They cant delay a game 1 week before its due to be released that would just piss people off.
thats why i said 'according to..." because im not sure myself
hmmm, proably not true, there has been so many of these and i dont know what one to belive. we will just have to wait and see.
I like french fries :p

Sorry m8 i wasnt been funny with u. It just annoys me when all these web sites and magazines keep saying the game is delayed when valve have not said anything themselves.
I think it woul'd also be very bad publicity for Valve/Vivendie to release a delay statement with less than 8 days to go before the release of Half Life 2 (7 days where I am now 23 sept), and that's the type of bad publicity that coul'd hurt Half Life 2's sales. Basically what I'm trying to say is the way I see it if there was going to be a delay to HL2 then Valve/ the development team would have known weeks ago and informed us already, so until I see otherwise I'm getting my copy of Half Life 2 on september 30th. :deal:
HL2 wasnt even announced until about 6 months ago... its been kept quiet for years and years so I'm not surprised theres no big hype, adverts, demos, etc for this release. This game is surely gonna sell itself.
This is a snippet from the November UK Edition of PCZone:
""September 30. I'm sure, like me, you've cleared your diaries, booked time off work, arranged to pack your partner off to a downmarket hotel and are looking forward to spending the entire week playing the most anticipated game in the world. Because the game is going to come out on September 30, right? I was at ECTS (the UK's quaint model village recreation of E3) to meet up with Doug Lombardi, director of marketing at Valve Software, and find out. And, although I'd been specifically warned off the subject by a friendly PR person ("Mention anything about the release date and your interview will be terminated immediately."), I decided to take the direct approach. "so, September 30 then?" "yep" "Definately September 30" "Uh-huh" "And the release date for Half Life 2" "September 30" "And the games going to be released on the...?" "It hasn't changed since you asked me 10 seconds ago.""
How does anyone apart from the developers know that the game hasnt already gone gold? Non Disclosure Agreements are VERY common in the software buisiness and the games could be pressed, boxed and sitting in warehouses ready for the release date already.
Who knows, but I guess we'll all find out in exactly one weeks time.... :)
too bad about this next delay its officaial (but hopefully its some sort of hacker fraud(that'll never happen(it might(no its not going to (dam oh well)))))
