Don't know much about it but I'll probably be installing it soon to get immediate access to HL2 preview media.

Well I have steam and as you may know that fileplanet is offering it to subscribers only. BTW I am not a subscriber to such things. I got steam long ago. Little background info about it:

Steam actually is a Half-Life community built into one program. It updates your games, it downloads them (you dont even have to have half life or cs to dl cs 1.6, steam will do it for you). You can also chat to buddies, play checkers, chess and others, and of course you can play half life games.

It is a lot more simple than dling updates from other sites and a lot of the menus are really nice. I would recommend it to anyone. You can basically get it by searching steaminstall.exe on a search engine. (This is a program that has been open to the public a long time so I am not leaking warez and junk)

Like I said before, you dont need half-life to play any of these games. Steam will dl them for you because they are still in beta stage. This gives a chance for you uB3r n00bs out there to try before you buy. I know you may be waiting for hl2 but this is the most sucessful game series ever and how can you really pass up such great gameplay?

Steam = ewwwww

Maybe it has been updated since I last used it, but it was buggy as hell, and downright annoying. I only used it to try CS 1.6 ( Which didn't impress me either :'( ). Maybe I should try it out again :-/. Yeah, I got it before Fileplanet released it to subscribers only. I may have a link to d/l it, if any of you are interested!

It's up on HL2Files.com, currently the File of the Week. http://www.halflife2files.com/file.info?ID=16325

I believe this is still a beta version of Steam, so bugs are to be expected, but all in all I like it. Can't wait to get my HL2 media.

I might give it a try a day before I do a format somtime. Unless all freatures are optional. I hate having to look at (stuff getting in the way of other) features that I will never have the intention to ever use.

Well, the movies seem the same stuff we've seen don't they (shots from E3)...Plus the program. Perhaps the slowest thing I've ever seen run. Crashed the program everytime I tried to run one via it, which I believe is to do with my os (typical of my luck). However they have a lot of catching up to do. That's what beta's are for though I suppose, but they really need to get this thing running quickly. Or is it just me?
