Hi!

I know there is only a chance -> zero that Halflife2 will run under non Windows-Systems like Linux or MacOS (if natively or under Wine)...

But that the original in game videos of Valve are crippled down to *.exe*-files... Is there any convincing reason for not releasing that vids as Mpegs (or Avi, wmv, doesnt matter)? So I am forced to reboot my linux-system to my Windows-fallback (falldown) only for viewing some vids: Not very customer-friendly, imho.

Other Contributers (like id) would never come on such a stupid idea (not mentioning that doom3 will run under linux and mac natively).

Another little, superfluos brick in the microsoftwall!

OK, its easy to use for the developers, and they dont have the time to think about such things in the moment.... At least a small excuse;)

Whats better about Linux over Windows anyway. Obviously besides the gaping security holes in Windows (and I do mean gaping)

Imagine a 3/4 ton truck stripped of all the non essentials like air conditioning, catalytyc converters, smog devices, fuel reduction add ons, and all the extra unnecessary weight. ( Or better yet imagine having all those things but being able to turn them off. )Now give that same truck an extra 400 horsepower and you have a fair comparison between Linux and Win-doze.

Linux just runs faster, burns cleaner. ;) It does not, however, have the ease of use that win-doze does. Although its graphical interface is getting better all the time, to use it effectively you need to know how to use the command prompt. Gaming has a ways to go yet. The basic difference is its not written with bad code the way some say win-doze is, but if everyone were to start using it you can bet it would develop alot more security issues if it were to become the home users o.s. of choice.
