Hi I am new to this game and I have a very basic question. How can you zoom out to see more of the map? I do not know whether it has anything to do with it but, I have tried numerous times to increase the resolution of the game but it reverts to 800 x 600 My monitor suggests using a much higher value which the game doesn't support but even going up a couple of steps doesn't seem to hold. I am using quad Pentium processor running win 7 with plenty of memory and HD. All I get to see is part of the fort/castle or part of the surrounding land. I have updated the game to 1.03 version which I think is the latest. I do not want to upgrade to BFME II yet as this game was given to me by my son and I would like him to see that I appreciate it. I am used to playing CIV IV but I find that this game is limited by not being able to increase the resolution and zooming out. Any help will be much appreciated.:bows: Thanks in advance.:cya: John

That's strange, you should be able to get your screen res to your desktop res as I have done, you need to go into:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth Files

And look for a file called Options.ini, you can manually change your screen resolutions on that and go into properties of the file and select read only. That way, your settings will be saved and the game won't be able to revert any settings that you have saved directly on that file.

As for zooming out, you can't zoom out too much as it's not really a Civ type of game, there is a mod but that is for Rise of the Witchking expansion pack that lets you zoom out and have different camera angles, but for BFME1 I honestly don't think there is a mod to let you zoom out a lot.

Hope that helps, if not I'd be more than happy to answer any further questions :)

Hi Thank you for replying - sorry I was delayed in responding. I have now adjusted the resolution as you suggest and next week I'll have an opportunity to try it out. This weekend is too busy for me to get time to play:(. Thanks you again.:cya: John
