This is the situation: I installed the game correctly with cd keys and everything and when it was finished I selected "launch BFME2". I got the green picture at the middle of the screen for a few seconds and then I got this: "The Battle for Middle-earth(tm) II has stopped working A problem has caused the program to stop running correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." And the only option is "close program", I get no details about the program or anything else. I tried running the game several times but I just got the same message. I used EAs technical support page but nothing there helped, I closed all background programs, I got plenty of space left on my C: drive and I don't think the game is too old to run on Vista cause I use plenty of games that is older than this. Do I need to use a special screen resolution or something? Mine is quite high but 1024x768 didn't work and it usually does. The CD's without scratches and I got no error during installation. Does anyone know how to fix this? btw yes I reinstalled planty of times without luck.

Firstly, the thing that first props to mind is Vista. Vista, at current has ALOT of problems running most games, and certain video drivers. Secondly, is your system specs, what are they?

It works on vista, a lot of people play on vista, patch the game to its fullest and make sure your gfx card supports the game, EA games are very fussy with graphics cards, they only like some nvidia and really don't like most of the ATI's so just check that out and make sure its compatible.

It *could* be your graphics card as it isn't supported or was even existant when the game was made. Or i suspect it *Might* be an install or PSU issue.

What's PSU? btw everything is patched to the highest and I tried the options.ini fix from the EA forums. Didn't work.

Power Supply Unit. It might be that your graphics card is not reciveing enough electricity.... Though, then your pc wouldn't start at all. I reckon it is the fact that your graphics card is unsupported by the game. However, what are your other pc specs, such as RAM etc?

In addition, have you actually tried reinstalling the game?

I got plenty of RAM i suppose, no other game is malfunctioning, and some people say newer cards are unsupported in many of EA's games cause they didn't exist when the game was made. I play battlefield 1942 perfectly, and it's older and from EA. And yeah I have reinstalled the whole ting 3 times with nothing changing.

Now Ive tried to install the latest driver for the video card and did some stuff in the properties of the game to make it run in a lower resolution. Now I get the "Insert the right CD and try again" thing. I washed the cd but it didn't help.
