sup peeps? i was wondering what kind of programming lnguage is needed to make these mods?i know the basics on c++ and visual basic and willing 2 learn more wid sum fo u experience programmers out there!!!
You don't need any programming for creating MODS .... If you want to create shaders you'll have to learned programming for DirectX9 .... mostly HLSL ..... check the Microsoft DirectX website , Nvidia/ATI developer website ....
Then again , if you really want to skip MODding alltogether , which is not a bad idea , get the latest version of VisualStudio and the Directx9 SDK .... hopefully , with time , things are gonna get to the point where is gonna be alot easier to create your own game engine and game than to MOD for a game that provides only half baked/crappy tools as we are seeing today .... Think about that !
Another idea would be to download the source code of the Quake3 engine and make sure you understand everthing that's going on there perfectly .... Too bad there are only a handfull of people on the planet that really understand all that stuff .... lol .... that's really really sad/bad .... Of course , somewhere along the way you'll have to contact Microsoft/Nvidia/Ati to help you optimize stuff .... Good luck with that , cause you'll need it .... Big Time ! ....
umm i have visual studio alrdy and im gunna start learning how 2 use open GL which is similer 2 directx9... i'e creating 3d graphics :)
Look up Gamestudio A5 if you want to make your own game. Not a super advanced situation like working with the quake3 engine code. I think its a good start to the world of gaming tho. Its not too expensive either i think.
Really, all you need to make mods, is the Mod Dev Toolkit that you can install when installing BF:V. C++ is way to advanced for the code involved with modding. Just look at the basic tutorials that come with the MDT.
Oh yeah, read the posts on this forum you find of interest and you will find its not too hard to "code" the mods for this game. Most of it is nothing but simple logic.
