External views in the vehicles only work when you place the vehicles as spawnable objects, not static. If they are static, then when you test your map locally, you cannot see in 3rd person mode. And when you play the map online, no one can get in them since static objects don't have a network.con file with the network code. This code is important. It allows all clients to know where every vehicle is and in what condition it is in.

Vehicles should be set as object spawns and not statics.

To enable camera angles on the player you have to edit the objects.con file located in Mods/Bfvietnam/Archives/objects.rfa

You can extract the .rfa to a folder on your desktop and edit the file using notepad, or just edit the file in winRFA

Open the objects.rfa in winRFA, scroll down and click on objects/common/Objects.con It should look like this:

ObjectTemplate.create EntryPoint SoldierEntry ObjectTemplate.setEntryRadius 3

ObjectTemplate.create Camera SoldierCamera ObjectTemplate.PivotPosition 0/0/0 ObjectTemplate.MaxSpeed 0/0/0 ObjectTemplate.HasTarget 0 ObjectTemplate.CVMInside 1 if c_final ObjectTemplate.CVMChase 0 ObjectTemplate.CVMFrontChase 0 ObjectTemplate.CVMFlyBy 0 else ObjectTemplate.CVMChase 1 ObjectTemplate.CVMFrontChase 1 ObjectTemplate.CVMFlyBy 1 endif ObjectTemplate.CVMTrace 0 ObjectTemplate.CVMExternTrace 0

Where it reads: if c_final ObjectTemplate.CVMChase 0 ObjectTemplate.CVMFrontChase 0 ObjectTemplate.CVMFlyBy 0

Change the 0's to 1, (ie: ObjectTemplate.CVMChase 1)

I would recommend backing up any original bfv file before editing it with winRFA, as I saw that you have had problems before with having to re-install BFV after using winRFA...

Also as Dooms pointed out to me if you alter any original bfv files and then attempt to play on a punkbuster enabled server you may run into problems, I havent tried it yet though so I cant say for sure what would happen.

Ah, that would explain alot. Cheers you two.:nodding: Since Doom brought that up with the static objects. I've been designing a map where the US start jumping out of choppers. But i dont know if there is anyway of keeping choppers in the air without anyone being able to use move them? I've tried static but they don't appear in-game. I've attached a shot of it(lol, yes i attached crates to the side to jump from. ).

Swainy did you know that you can make a spawn a parachute drop spawn, so that when you spawn you are automatically parachuteing down?

It sets the view that you see when the game starts and while you are waiting to spawn....

Oh by the way I got banned from a Punk Buster server cause I didn't change back the camera settings in infantry mode before connecting.... Its Ok now though cause I just explained myself to the game op and all is forgiven....LOL
