Hi, I don't know if people remember my "Recruit Snyder's Vietnam 1.0" mod right after the release of BFV - when my mod was mainly a bugfix for the "M60 problem", plus adding some useful features to the game.

Now, after 6 months of modding BF42 again, I've found time to continue my Vietnam mod, it's still based on RSV 1.0. Almost every feature is AI supported, so you can play this mod in COOP mode if there are no servers available (I know, BFV bots are as dumb as their BF42 uncles)

- Blood FX (moderate) - 3rd person view for infantry (F10 - F12) - No self destruction for damaged vehicles - Vehicles can be abandoned on a map for later re-use - Tank & chopper weapons with adjusted velocity / ammo - Hooks & winches added to certain vehicles (MI-8 Cargo etc.) - Cobra pilot got add'l heat seeking missiles - secondary - Mi-8 Military with add'l heat seeking missiles - secondary - MI-8 Cargo Helicopter added to certain maps - unarmed - Helipads repair and ammo refill radius increased - BM21 SAM on more maps; 3-seater with add'l heat seeking AA missiles - secondary - Ammo for certain hand weapons adjusted - Southern Heavy Assault class re-done: L.A.W. now with Car 15 or XM148 - not with M60 - Infantry MG's changed: RPD, DPM, M60 lost the crosshair. - M60: Increased deviation standing/running/kneeling; tends to jam - fire in short bursts only - New/unique engines for all choppers - Four Wheel Drive for all jeeps - UAZ with new suspension - Heat seeking missiles less precise now - they're still lethal but they're easier to avoid - Mobile supply depots - heal, repair land vehicles and refill ammo, destroyable, can be moved by choppers - but don't repair choppers ;-)) - On many maps, for both sides. - Additional seats (outside) for M110 and Patton - One Huey Gunship added to Flaming Dart - replacing one Cobra - Numerous minor changes

Now, for version 1.2, I've given back the crosshairs to the light MGs, and I added new stuff. Some of the features may sound familiar to those of you who know my BF42 mod :)

At the moment, overall download size of the entire mod (code, textures, meshes, 17 map files) is around 5.5 MB; The official WW2 mod by DICE is required to play.

The mod supports SP/MP maps only, no support for the cheap MP only maps (Con Thien etc.), but it features the three WW2 mod maps with modern equipment (in COOP and Conquest mode, see pics);

i wish my computer could run this game, i was amazed with what you did with bf1942 and all the expansions

If your computer can display this thread with all the pics, it should run BFV fine :)

Additional info: Beta testing is on the way, map support for the following custom maps (COOP and Conquest maps only) in included - author's maps must be installed for Vanilla BFV:

Hard to destroy, comes with Heavy Engineer kit in case you need a MG; BTW, all checkpoints can also be placed in water, they won't take damage. The U.S. version can be airlifted as well;

The most useless addition so far, I don't know myself why I made it: Tow Truck, as you can see ... winch functionality (driver), can lift light vehicles plus crates, AA guns. Don't try lifting a tank, you will hurt yourself. Will maybe removed for the final version ...

I think you should keep the tow truck, could add some fun when there are only bots, or jut you. Like dropping stuff off cliffs, or carrying that, while it is lifting a jeep. (Or is it non air-liftable?)

You'll find a server list (beta version 1.2VNC) on the mod HP. I try to keep it updated.

Back to the Tow Truck, I've decided to make it "noobproof" so everybody can use it like a helicopter that lifts objects. New models, new code for the winch, but still I suggest you practice the use of this truck before you enter the "real" battle. It cannot be lifted by helicopters! :) Due to its weight, the truck can be used to push/ram other vehicles, even tanks. During my tests, I pushed an attacking T-72 into the water; if you ram a jeep at full speed, the truck will take damage, but the jeep might be destroyed ... just in case you don't find any objects worth lifting :)
