I've tried making alot of maps for this game, but I'll get halfway through and just ditch the whole concept. I've got one really good idea right now, but I am getting really annoyed because of a glitch in the editor. I am trying to make a beach, just a plain coast straight across, but for some reason with each map I make two of the sides can't be edited. Rather than just being even, the slope down really sharply and cut off the area of the map. There's nothing I can do to them, the terrain editor won't even them out and it makes my maps really ugly, because you'll be flying along a valley and all the sudden it will just make a sharp turn and drop off. Also, sometimes I will edit terrain and the edges will pop up, and then I can't level them back out. Is there anything, I can do, or is there anyone with a similar problem?
Go into the terrain editor, ("f1") select smoothing tool ("b"), click where you want to smooth out, and hold down the mouse button. A better way would be to change the sliding bar on the right to a position on the far right and change the number from 1 to 9. Greatly smoothes things out. If you have just one point popping up, select the piont manipulation tool ("Z") when in terrain editing, de-select the Toggle Point AutoSmoothing, select the point you want to change, hold down shift, then drag up or down.
Keep trying. You will have stupid problems, but it takes time. Hope to see some kick-ass levels.
