Don't think that BFV will enjoy the same success as BF1942 .... it could , after all , it's the same game engine , just people don't like so much and i guess they are tired of the compatibility issue .... anyway , make your own skin .... the MOD tools are the same .... they should be better .... they want to show this new version is way better than the old one .... well , it's more of a unfinished product , in transition to dynamic lighting and shadows (realtime not baked) .... no more baked lightmaps and shadows .... but without them it looks like crap , for now , at least the performance and quality is not there yet .... if you are lucky the transition will be over when BF2 comes out .... maybe not .... try to make your own map and see if it looks better than the one made for BF1942 .... things will get better .... in 2005 :D

2004 is the best year for gamers ! yeah right , it's just as good as 2001 , 2002 or 2003 if not worse .... Enjoy ! :D

i can see more dynamic lighting and shadows in the old Q3 , but that's OpenGL .... OpenGL made in 1998 ? how old is quake3 , 5-6 years ? it sure seems more like 10 .... Enjoy ! :D

i skinned for 1942, however(with bfv) when i tried to alter the texture rfa.. to change the skinns around...so i could post them .. the game would crash.. it seems that they made the game that u could only skin useing your own little miini mod, but no opening and changeing .dds files for the main bfv.... someone who knows a bit more . please explain!

You should not mess with the original texture.rfa .... create a MOD first and then extract whatever textures you want to edit to that MOD folder .... at least that's the idea .... but i think you have to edit every dependent texture and make sure they are in your MOD folder .... i think you can't do just a partial job .... put all the textures that are needed in your MOD folder even if you don't edit all of them .... try that , it might work .... don't forget to repack the MOD files ....
