What happens exactly - the game just freezes? And it happens to BF1942 as well? You might want to seek out the Omega Drivers for your video card. Not sure if it'll help you, but it fixed a few problems I was having.

yea i would say that it could be drivers, probely is too, hmm, lets see....., i saw a thread sometime ago about bfv not supporting PCIe, but as your useing AMD that isent it.., ohh and you have service pack 2, theres a small chance your windows firewall can be causeing this, i would recomend you fix it, dont shut the firewall of however, its almost crucial to keep it on. Other wise it should work good. Nice pc btw, Good but not to expensive, a good choice, the AMD 3500+ isent so expensive, and will do to all games that are out there, just about, and the 6600 is a cheap but good grapich card, Nvidias budget option, aculy any card from the 6 series are good for gaming, but the 6600 is one of the best, alot cheaper then the 6800, and its not much worser either.

I am sure its just the firewall......you should check that before you install omega drivers.....because they are not certified drivers............I almost garantee it....Mine always locks up on me when something new is added to the game....mods and patches....keep this in mind because this probel WILL happen to you again in the future.
